BYU vs. Utah Women’s Basketball

Lexi Rydalch and Kalani Purcell did the heavy lifting, but BYU required some timely sharpshooting from their teammates to close out Utah.

Fouled out, all Rydalch could do, was rise and shout as the Utes clawed within nine late in the fourth.

That hurt, she said. But as sophomore guard Cassie Broadhead drilled a long two and junior Makenzi Pulsipher hit a 3-pointer, it hurt her throat, because she was screaming so loud.

Beating Utah “never gets old,” said the senior guard, who totaled 29 points, six rebounds and three steals while first-year Utah head coach Lynne Roberts fell 73-59 in her first rivalry contest.
